Hey Gwen, Deb and all the Lake Garda Ladies,

So we’re back over a week and back to reality in work. We don’t even know where to start and this may be long so here goes.

We got engaged December 2013 and always said that we would love to get married abroad with all our nearest and dearest. Ben had been to Lake Garda as a kid with his family so put it forward as a wedding destination. June 2015 we emailed you guys and told you that we had planned a trip over for my birthday and we got an email back immediately telling us to pop in to meet one of the ladies who would show us around.

Enter Deb who gave us a tour around Malcesine and introduced us to the florist, hairdressers, make up lady and showed us the castle. She booked us a meal at La Voglia and told us that anything else that was needed we just had to let her know, we hadn’t even booked a wedding and Deb was already going above and beyond. It didn’t take us long to make the decision to have our wedding with LGW and so started the planning.

We booked the wedding for August 2016 and LGW took all the stress of planning away. Emails were answered immediatley with humour and I never felt like I was being annoying or asking stupid questions. Legalitites were something I couldn’t get my head around as I’m Irish and Ben is English but LGW were there on the other end of the computer talking me through everything. Everything was so organised and we didn’t need to panic at all because questions and worries were put to rest immediately.

Our family and friends were so excited about the wedding and when we arrived on the Monday the 1st of August we prepared for what would be the best week of our lives. We had Tuesday to enjoy the sights of Lake Garda and on the Wednesday we met with the wonderful Deb to have our welcome meeting, she again made us laugh and was so calming so we knew everything was in hand. Our meeting at La Voglia with Christian got us even more excited for the big day.

Then the morning of the wedding. The weather had been amazing for the whole week before hand and they predicated rain for our wedding day which made my stomach turn. The morning of the wedding myself, my mum and my bridesmaids went to the hairdressers and they were amazing, they were calming and the hair and make up for everyone was phenomenal. It stayed dry until my little brother arrived at the hotel and then the heavens opened. I wanted to cry. The Italian saying is ‘wet bride is a lucky bride, and then in rocks Gwen “A wet bride is a p***** off bride and that was it, I knew this amazing woman would make my day ok no matter what the weather.

Photos were taken in the hotel, they gave us free prosecco to calm the nerves, walked me out through the service exit so I would stay dry, the tuk tuk driver wrapped me and my little brother in blankets so that we would be kept dry, the hair dressers touched up my hair and make up and Gwen said we wouldn’t have to do any photos that we didn’t want to. But she made me laugh so much we thought let’s just go for it. Gwen you got absolutely drenched but just kept going. The ceremony had been moved inside and I was reassured that my Groom and Guests were all fine. And then I arrived at the castle, the string quartet, the flowers, the room and Debs smiley face were all enough to make the rain seem like nothing. The ceremony went like a flash and the rain kept coming, we mingled with our friends and family and Gwen explained that she was more then happy to take photos in the rain as long as we were happy. This was my wedding day and we didn’t want to miss an opportunity. So myself, Ben and my chief bridesmaid and best man and the most patient photographer in the world (Gwen) battled wind and rain to get some amazing photos. All the while our guests had started a sing song in bar paridiso and were enjoying the ice cream vouchers.

The sun finally came out in time for mine and Ben’s tuk tuk ride to the boat and our guests wandered down to the lake front. The boat ride was short and we sat up top getting blown away but we wanted to enjoy every moment. We arrived at La Voglia and we got amazing group photos and photos of Myself and Ben. Deb you were amazing and when I became a little overwhelmed you were there with hot tea, minded my flat shoes and kept the day running smoothly. My family absolutley adored you and wanted you to stay all night. You were there till after our first dance and organised the dance for me and my little brother. Gwen took photos of things that I hadn’t ever thought of. NOTHING was to much trouble.

Our night ended at 3am after the best meal we have ever had, and then drinks and dancing in a bar. But it didn’t end there, the next day we put back on our wedding gear and went to meet Gwen at the LGW office to take more photos……..She knew that the rain and wind had devastated me and she organised to do it all over again. My hair and make up was touched up by the girls in the hairdressers and we made our way to the castle to take more photos. I could never have asked for anymore then this, we took photos at the bell and we had such a laugh doing it all.

Our family and friends have said it was the best wedding ever, they want to do it all again so if anyone wants 50 guests for a wedding next year let me know. Deb you became part of our family and we adore you, Gwen you went above and beyond to make sure that myself and Ben were happy and for that we are eternally grateful, all the Lake Garda team thank you for making our dreams come true. Everyone raves about our photos and say that you would never know it rained cause everyone looks so happy and that’s down to you guys.

I’m sorry for the long email I did try to shorten it but I needed you guys to know that everyone of the Ellard/Chappell wedding party had the most amazing day. You guys are in a class of your own and really do make dreams come true. We will be back to Malcesine and we will definitely be renewing our vows. Keep doing what your doing cause you do it amazingly well.

For any brides who are worried about their wedding day don’t. As long as you have these ladies on side then everything will be OK.

We love you guys, see you soon.
