We’ve finally landed back in Australia after a month in Italy so just wanted to write a little/long post about our wedding day!

Ladies I’ll go into everything in more detail but I can not stress enough… YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! I don’t think I slept for about a month before the wedding and there was honestly no need. Everything was perfect even when things I didn’t want to happen did – we had a little bit of rain during photos – it was actually a fantastic break from the sun! Two guests dropped out the day before with ill health – the table plan worked fine and the food & wine got eaten/drunk! The LGW ladies have everything under control so you & your hubby just need to turn up & smile!

LGW – I can not thank the LGW ladies enough. From my first enquiry over 18 months ago you have all been fantastic. You got back to my every email, change, random question & mad panic so quickly and always made me feel at ease. Sara you were the best wedding planner, all our guests commented on how fabulous you were and you ensured everything ran smoothly. We cannot thank you enough & hope to see you in Melbourne soon!!

La Voglia – The only negative I have is that you will be disappointed in every other Italian meal you ever eat! We spent 3 weeks after the wedding travelling round Italy and another meal didn’t even come close!!
We had the Buffalo Mozzarella & Tomato, Parma Ham & Melon, Lasagne, Pear & Cheese Ravioli, Beef & Tiramisu. We also had children, a vegan, gluten & tomato allergy’s. Everyone loved the food & couldn’t believe how many courses we had. They thought the menu was alternate drop! The presentation was fantastic, quality superb & I was very impressed how they managed to get all dishes served at the same time for 72 guests! The venue is fantastic, a great sized restaurant with stunning views of the lake. I loved that there was an outside bar, dance floor but also outside seating for those that wanted to relax; I felt like it meant everyone was still so close. Christian & the team were fabulous throughout the day/evening and I’m sure no one will be disappointed in choosing this venue. PS if you have a big dress like I did, don’t panic the toilet is massive! Haha

DJ & Sax – We find that wedding music can make or break & party and the DJ & Sax honestly made it! The Sax was a last minute addition and I’m so pleased that we did. It was so great & set a really cool vibe whilst we were finishing our meals & before the dancing started. Once the dancing started it was so hard to leave the dance floor as he played great song after great song! We all ended up very sweaty but had so much fun!

Flowers – I love flowers & have spent at least 1,000 hours on Pinterest looking at different options. The florist was able to take my pictures and honestly produce arrangements that were even better!!! I know flowers aren’t for everyone but if you’re like me you won’t be disappointed. I just wish I could walk round with my bouquet everyday!

Lakeside Toast – I loved the lakeside toast, I felt like it was a great time to relax together as a couple and start speaking to all our guests with a glass of prosecco in hand! The nibbles were excellent and I would very much recommend eating at La Pace on one of your nights as the food and service is outstanding.

Makeup – The makeup artist is incredible! I have very sensitive skin and a couple of days before the wedding I had a reaction & it went so dry, lumpy & horrible I honestly thought every picture would just have to be photoshopped. Thankfully the makeup artist is a miracle worker and you couldn’t even tell!! Myself & my bridesmaids looked fabulous and she got what we wanted right & the first time.

Hair – Myself & my 4 bridesmaids all got our hair done & all (if I do say so myself) looked fantastic. They all have different lengths & thickness yet she made the style look great on each of them! I had a trial to put myself at ease as I have really thick long hair but probably didn’t need as she was able to complete the style I wanted without any issues. So pleased with everything!!

Bar Oasi – If your family drink/party like ours you will be surprised how much time you spend here! Sara helped arrange our welcome drinks here & it was a fantastic start to the wedding celebrations. We reserved an area from 5:30 – 7pm as most people were half board & we put on a couple of free drinks for everyone. Everyone loved it and we ended up there most nights!

Tuk Tuk – It was awesome to arrive in the tuk tuk, everyone in the village was clapping & taking photos. I felt like I was a Kardashian! My hubby also had fun it on trip down to the lakeside toast! If you don’t want the tuk tuk you should still go to Al Cervo for a meal. About 20 of the girls went for a lunch and we had so much fun, prosecco, food & limoncello. The food was so good & service was fantastic. They also arranged for the train to pick us up & take us back to Oasi to carry on the party!

Hotel Capri – I can not fault the Hotel Capri at all. Marco & the team are excellent! Our room was modern, spacious & had fantastic views over the lake. Breakfast had so much too choose from which I really indulged in after the wedding. We had 5 children and a baby at the hotel and they were excellent with them & the kids loved playing in the pool. It is located in a fantastic spot, a short walk into the village and even shorter walk to Bar Oasi 🙂

Violin & Piano – I must admit my memory of the violin & piano is a bit of a blur as my emotions were running so high but my husband said they were incredible & so many guests commented on how fantastic they were. Such a great addition!

Boat Trip – The boat trip was such a fun way to arrive at La Voglia. Everyone really enjoyed it and was great to look back & see the castle. We chose the 30min option and for us that was perfect as with 72 guests and a my big dress there wasn’t much movement. Definitely recommend adding if you don’t have at the moment.

I’m sure I’ve forgotten something & for that I apologise as every single part of the wedding & our time in Malcesine was fantastic & I can not thank the LGW ladies & everyone involved enough for making our day so special.

My Maid of Honour’s now fiancé proposed on a speed boat on the lake on their last day in Malcesine so fingers crossed we get to come back & do it all again for them!!

Thank you Mr & Mrs Peak! Xxx
