Where to start? The words ‘ thank you’ and ‘wonderful’ are just not enough for how we feel about the fantastic team at Lake Garda Weddings ( or the Garda Girls – GG – as we affectionately call them).
Our wedding was originally booked for June 2020 but like many other couples COVID scuppered this. At the time of postponing many of our friends asked “why don’t you just get married in the UK?” Well, to put it simply, we knew in our hearts that if we went down that route then it would only ever have been second best. It was well worth the wait and was everything we imagined it to be and more.
Throughout all our dealings with the “GG” they have always been professional with a great sense of care and humour. My constant emails were answered promptly and always put my mind at ease.
The location, Malcesine Castle on the terrace is second to none, we opted for the violin and keyboard at the ceremony and everyone said how moving it was. Afterwards guests were fed gelato whilst we were having our photos taken by Gwen. Remember girls when holding your bouquet its ‘pubes not boobs’!! Just when you thought Gwen had finished and disappeared, up she’d pop from some distant corner/nook of the castle snapping away. Our photos are truly beautiful – thank you.
A tuk tuk driven by Simone took us both from the Castle to the Lakeside Reception for fizz and canapes, through the narrow cobbled streets of the town which gave the tourists and locals some entertainment. This was followed by an exclusive boat trip to our main reception venue, La Voglia. Having eaten here a few times before we knew we were in safe hands with Christian the Manager whose team served up a gastronomic delight, later on followed by wedding cake and pizza. We were absolutely stuffed. The evening continued with a DJ and Saxophone and Boy could he play that Sax (in the words of Fleur East)! The play list we gave him was used to the full and our guests were dancing all night.
Every detail had attention to detail and it was just perfect. It really was a faultless day and I did not have to think or worry about anything. Annabel had it all covered whilst also putting all our guests as ease. Even our pregnant daughter whose feet had swollen she found a box and a cushion and placed this under the main table for her to put her feet up. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
I should also like to thank Tiziana for my beautiful hair, Francesca for my make up which didn’t budget even in the extreme heat and humidity of the day. Our bouquets were beautiful and so fresh and I even got mine home to put on my parents grave a week later.
Our day was truly magical and all our guests said it was like a fairytale wedding and the best wedding they had been to. We had many tears on the day but all tears of joy.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work of Gwen, Annabel & Deborah who make up this extraordinary team. We are so pleased that the wedding season is back in full swing for you so that you can bring your little bit of magic to many more weddings.
