Emily & Nick - 2017

Our experience with Lake Garda Weddings was so unbelievably perfect we honestly don’t know where to start!
Right from the very first email almost 2 years ago we knew that we were in safe hands with Gwen and the team. We had constant and thorough email communication with the ladies from the very start of our enquiry which with a wedding abroad is so reassuring and comforting during the anxious months leading up to the day.
We had been to Malcesine once before so we had a rough idea of the area and how much we loved it. Upon booking our date, we decided to visit again with parents and officially meet the LGW team.

On our arrival, we met with Deborah who very kindly took time out of her day to walk the ‘wedding route’ and detail everything that would happen on our day the following year.
From the first five minutes with Deborah we knew that we would love her with us on the wedding day (we found out afterwards that she changed her personal plans to be with us on the day!). Deborah is unlike anybody we have ever met, this is definitely more than a job to her. She was so personable, whilst remaining totally professional. Deborah has a magical way of taking any nerves and stress away, enabling you to just completely enjoy the lead up to your wedding. We could write a whole review based just on Deborah – she is that good!!!
As soon as we had spent time with Deborah and the team that day, we knew we had made the right decision.

Malcesine is the most beautiful location for a wedding. We married in May, on the terrace of the castle which was beautifully set up for us. Although the castle is a public place, it still felt like it was our own for the day and was very private, this again was largely due to the team at LGW.
One thing that was naturally always at the back of our minds was the weather, even though this was the one thing us or LGW could not control! We were very lucky on the day as the forecast showed thunderstorms previously but the day ended up dry and a perfect temperature.
If it had rained, we knew there was an inside area which was equally as breathtaking as the terrace so felt at ease with this too.

We used the hair and make up ladies booked through LGW and couldn’t fault them one bit. I took a photo of how I would like my hair and she matched this – alongside natural style make up. (the ladies at the salon have photo books for you to choose from and there is something for everyone).

We used the tuk tuk on the day to transport us from place to place which was an incredible experience. It really makes you feel like royalty as you whizz through the streets to applause and cheers from the public. Luca the tuk tuk owner was lovely – he made us feel so special and also stopped at the hairdressers after the ceremony to touch up my make up!

We used Gwen for all of our photography on the day, SHE IS AMAZING!. Honestly, Gwen is a genius and a complete professional with her camera. She is very discreet during the intimate ceremony.
We had so much fun and laughter with her during our castle photos, the time just seemed to fly by!
As a couple who have never had professional photos taken before she put us at complete ease and the photos showed this. Gwen knows what shots work for which couples and this felt a very personal and unique experience.
We absolutely love our photos and highly recommend Gwen to anybody.

On the day, as we had an 11am wedding, we had the lakeside toast, a break at Bar Al Porto and extended boat trip to La Voglia for our meal.
Our guests were completely blown away at how much was involved on the day and are still talking about it now, if you do have the choice of an 11am wedding and have a larger wedding party – do it and do all these things!
The boat trip was very special and we would definitely recommend doing this – Deborah kept us all topped up with prosecco which also went down well with our guests!

Christian and the team at La Voglia restaurant were absolute stars. We met Christian the day before to go through last minute bits such as table decorations and he set all this up better than we could have done for our arrival, the venue looked absolutely stunning.
We kept things very simple as the location and setting speaks for itself.
The food is without a doubt the best we have ever eaten. We felt 4 courses was more than ample and our guests are again still raving about this!

The LGW team, especially Deborah and Gwen have never felt like just ‘wedding planners’ to us more so like close friends. Deborah is now the signature on our wedding certificate making her such a large part of our lives.
The worst part about booking through Lake Garda Weddings is that 1 - you don’t want to leave Malcesine and say goodbyes and 2 - you just want to do it all over again. The best part is the amazing memory of the best day of our lives and that we have special place to go back to for our anniversaries and more.

We have made some real friends in Deborah and Gwen and can’t wait to see them again
